About Me
Over the past 11 years, I've developed my skills in motion design and digital production. From Dubai & London, to Guernsey, here's a glimpse into how my career journey has shaped me into who I am today.
Guernsey
to Dubai
After gaining a digital marketing certification in 2012 whilst working in retail, I began with a month's internship at a digital agency called Firefly, in Dubai. In three years, I progressed to manage the Emirates account, transforming a struggling client into our most profitable relationship. My work on GMEI digital campaigns led to expanded business across Emirates' European, African, Brand and Corporate Communications teams.
Dubai
to London
After returning to the UK from Dubai in 2017, I joined London startup LevyColes, working to build their market presence. Managing diverse client portfolios, I handled everything from social media and content creation to email campaigns. Through dedicated account management, we maintained a 100% client retention rate, supporting the agency's growth.
London
to Guernsey
In 2017, I joined Specsavers' internal creative agency in Guernsey, quickly advancing to digital project manager overseeing various projects. By 2019, I moved into the studio, where I led a team creating digital assets for multiple regions. Playing a pivotal role in the 2019 global rebrand, I developed guidelines for paid digital channels and implemented dynamic digital display in the UK & ROI.
A new challenge
I left Specsavers in October 2022 to pursue a career break. In October 2023, I began offering my expertise to ambitious agencies and businesses with significant growth potential and haven’t looked back since. My specialism lies in motion design and digital production, two areas I am passionate about. Whether you need freelance support for a project or assistance during busy periods, let’s talk.
My life outside work is largely dominated by my love of the sea. If I’m not on it, I’m in it or close to it.
Volunteering
Following the tragic loss of my sister Sarah in Kashmir, India, in April 2013, we established the Sarah Groves Foundation in her honor, with me serving as a founding trustee. The Foundation's central aim is to enrich the lives of young individuals through grants supporting art, fitness, and adventure initiatives. Alongside my trustee responsibilities, I contributed brand, design, social media, and website services to the Foundation. After serving as a trustee until February 2022, I felt it was time to step back, reflecting on the enduring positive impact we've had on those we've assisted. Fishing and Foraging
My love for the sea started at 9 in Guernsey. From rock-pooling and fishing with my dad to coastal foraging, I've deepened my knowledge of marine life. In 2017, I bought a fishing boat called Lazy Days, enjoying successful catches and prioritising environmental sustainability by releasing many of my catches. Cooking what I catch over open flames has become a favourite pastime, adding to the joy of ticking items off my fishing bucket list and setting personal best records for different species each year.
Sea Swimming
Having faced multiple traumas in my life, I suffer from chronic anxiety. In 2021, in search of a ‘miracle cure’, I turned to sea swimming. Despite initial doubts, the cold water therapy has proven to be incredibly calming and cleansing, providing instant relief from my anxiety. Now a daily ritual, sea swimming has become a peaceful escape. I also enjoy snorkelling around Guernsey’s coastline with my friend Chris. We’ve seen a vast array of local marine life, from bass to squid.
Music Production
In 2006, while studying at Oxford Brookes University, I began recording music covers and exploring music production. Delving into Oxford's vibrant music scene, I ventured into techno, dubstep, and drum & bass at venues like the Cellar. Under the alias Ambitur, I crafted ambient and melodic techno tracks with a close friend, performing at Ministry of Sound and Gottwood Festival. Despite nearly signing with Traum Schallplatten in 2013, a family tragedy paused our music journey. Eager to resume my musical pursuits after a long term hiatus.
